Construction accident injuries may be a concern in North Carolina

When something goes wrong while on the job, there is often a chance that workers could be injured. A construction accident is a common cause of on-the-job injuries, and in many cases, workers could seriously suffer. If North Carolina workers are injured on the job, they may wish to submit claims for workers’ compensation in hopes to gain assistance with damages resulting from the accidents.

One man in another state may be looking into his compensation options after being critically injured while working. Reports stated that the man was a construction worker and had been working to repair a washed-out portion of road. The repairs utilized heavy equipment, and during the moving of excavating equipment, a chain raising the equipment broke. The chain then hit the man in the head, leading him to fall down an embankment.

The man had to be extracted from the area by rescue workers, who put him on a backboard before moving him up the embankment. An ambulance took the man from the scene to meet a helicopter, which flew him to an area hospital. It was noted that the man was critically injured in the incident. Additional information on his condition and identity was not released at the time of the report.

Due to the injuries the man suffered in the construction accident, it is likely that workers’ compensation will be warranted. If North Carolina workers have found themselves in such predicaments and suffered serious injuries as a result, they may also wish to find out more about filing workers’ comp claims. If there is a desire for assistance with such an endeavor, individuals may wish to consult with experienced attorneys.
