BOB BOLLINGER: At The Bollinger Law Firm, we primarily handle workers’ compensation cases representing only the injured worker, the employee. We never represent the insurance company. We handle the collateral cases that are associated with workers’ comp such as retaliatory termination, tort cases involving car accidents and disability insurance issues as well. At our firm, the client always makes the final decision about whether to accept a settlement offer or go to court.

BOB BOLLINGER: Sometimes you have to go to court to get your client what your client needs. And you have to let the insurance companies know that you’re willing to go to court so that they are willing to consider that risk when they are evaluating the case for settlement value. If they know you might take them to court and make them pay full value on a case, then they’re much more willing I think to give you a fair settlement without going to court.

BOB BOLLINGER: What I enjoy most about practicing workers’ compensation law is the ability to help people, good hardworking North Carolinians who have been injured at work and who perhaps are not getting what they should be getting from their employer or the insurance company. It makes me feel good. It gives me a lot of satisfaction to be able to help those folks and help them take care of their families.
