Pat McCrory is running for Governor of NC, and he commented in Asheville this past weekend that we need more workers’ comp reform in NC. Now, we just got a big work comp reform last summer, which became law on June 24, 2011. That reform was pushed by the Republicans on behalf of the business community and insurance companies. It reduced the duration of wage loss benefits for the most seriously injured workers, and did some other things, but the business and insurance lobbyists did not get everything they wanted, so McCrory wants to do more for them if he gets elected. If you work for a living in NC, keep his work comp reform plan in mind when you go to vote in November.
