Construction accident falls may fuel need for benefits

Injuries suffered at work often range in severity. Depending on the circumstances of the injury-causing accident, a North Carolina worker could find him or herself brushing off a minor scratch or feeling lucky to have survived the incident. One worker in another state may soon be taking some time off after recently being involved in an injury-causing incident. Reports stated that the man was working on a university campus, carrying out construction duties. The man was on a scaffolding when he fell 15 feet. It was unclear what may have caused the man to fall.

The incident resulted in the worker suffering injuries to his head and back. Emergency crews arrived at the scene in order to attend to the man and assess the incident. He was taken from the university campus to an area medical center to be treated for injuries. The event was still under investigation at the time of the report. No other workers appeared to have been involved in the accident.

Falls make up a considerable number of construction accident cases. Head and back trauma are not uncommon in such incidents, and North Carolina workers who have been involved in this type of event may need to find out how workers’ compensation may be able to help.
