When a sudden work-related accident leads to serious injuries, the injured workers may have many concerns. Though they undoubtedly want to focus on their recovery, North Carolina workers may find themselves wondering how they will address other issues that come about from suffering workplace injuries. In particular, financial woes could easily be on the horizon.
The mind of one man in another state may be reeling with such concerns after recently being injured on the job. Reports indicated that the man worked for a construction crew and was cutting a concrete pipe when the accident occurred. Apparently, the saw the man was using to cut the pipe hit him in the face causing a serious cut. It was unclear what may have caused the saw to hit him.
Emergency crews were called to the scene, and he was transported from the area by medical helicopter. Reports stated that he was considered to be in serious condition. It was also noted that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was conducting an investigation into the incident. More information may become available when the investigation concludes.
When workplace injuries are serious, time away from work and medical bills are not uncommon. As a result, North Carolina workers who suffer injuries may apply for workers’ compensation in hopes of obtaining financial benefits to help with these issues. Of course, the application process can have its difficulties, and individuals who have questions or would like assistance dealing with application denials or other issues may wish to consult with knowledgeable attorneys.
